Ops Oh Deer, Saturday 9 November 2013

After leaving Lexington, we made our way south to Tennessee to pick up the Natchez Park Traceway.
8 miles outside Centerville we were side swiped by a deer. It came from behind us and hit he car between the front week and the headlight. The first we knew was a loud bang and the deer overtook us spinning down the road in front of the car.

We stopped and jumped out of the car, the Boss first comment was 'Oh I hope the deer is O.K."  Then she looked at the car and saw the damage. Her attitude changed immediately and she wanted to kill the deer. At that the deer jumped up and disappeared into the woods.

We are both O.K. poor old Bonnie looked after us again.

A trip to the Body Shop and had the car checked over.  They tried to locate parts but at that time the nearest Grill was in Kansas and they could guarantee how long it would take to ship it.
Wes the owner said we were lucky we had a well built, good old fashioned car otherwise it could have been worse.

So they did a temporary repair to make us legal.
While we were there they had several more deer strike on newish cars, they were totaled or write offs.
Wes said that over the next couple of weeks, deer strikes will increase and he will be over run with work.

Here she is, ready to go.

The next day we headed out for the Natchez Trace Parkway.
