Back on the Road

On the road from Las Vegas making our way to Socorro, New Mexico.

A view of Lake Mead.

I think we'll keep going straight on!!!!!

This store has a weird range from full size metal Giraffe to a small Dragon.

Oh and don't forget the wooden flowers. Well we are in the desert.

See you always wanted know where it was, now can you pronounce it?

Don't look now but your being followed.

This is Bosque de la Apache, which means wood or forrest of the Apache.
This is a National Wildlife Refuge, south of Socorro.
It is over 57,000 acres of which 30,00 are designated wilderness.
There is a 12 mile loop road so access is really good.

These are Sandhill Cranes that winter here, there are approx 10,000.

This is a technical term for a fence with opening flaps!!!!1

We stayed to see the birds returning to roost at sunset.

Not the most elegant of landings.

These are the Snow Geese another winter visitor.

Looks as if they are getting their heads down.

Oh well thats our way back to the motel, time for food and liquid nourishment.

The Road back to Vegas

Hi Everybody, we some how managed not to complete the last leg of the 2012 trip.
(To much fun.)!!!!

So here we go trying to  catch up.

We made our way back to Las Vegas after being very lazy and very warm at Lake Havasu, but chose to take the scenic route via Oatman to Las Vegas.

This is part of the old Route 66.

Begging Boros

This is Oatman.

The Boss checking out local stores.

If you hadn't guessed this place is popular with Bikers !!!!

On the way out the Borros managed to catch us.
