Natchez Trace Parkway 2 November 2013

As you travel the Trace you realize that there is a fresh water supply all the way. Some thing the travelers would need when  walking over 400 miles.

This is one of the fords and originally there was a  metal works here hence the name!!!

Not sure if this was a bee or a wasps nest so we didn't get too close.

Back on the road to get some lunch.

Todays menu is Pulled Pork with  Mash Potato's, side of Butter Beans and Broccoli.
Oh and Corn Bread.

Doesn't look good but it was delicious.

The lady at the register was snacking on one of these and she shared a piece with us. Then gave us one too share, no charge. It ways 5 ozs and has 590 cals.

Back on the road feeling very full. No we didn't eat The Honey Bun.

The weather closed in this afternoon but still very picturesque.

Stop for a cuppa before we cross the bridge.

This is an area that was hit by a Tornado in 2012.

This is over 10 miles of devastation.

Five miles down the road the weather clears and we stop to look an old indian burial site.

The Boss spots a flock of wild Turkeys, but we are to slow and they disappear into the trees

Dinner was heavy, we feel the need to exercise or we will be asleep.

Plenty of lovely places to walk.

Now time to find the motel.
