Texas State Line. and into Louisiana.

Being out west was really great but back in civilization
you get a cooked breakfast.
Hash Browns, Eggs, Sausage and Biscuits and Gravy.

The big draw back with this room is it's on the first floor.

Still it doesn't take long to load the car.

Back on the I 10, back to normal the bus is over taking us.

The trouble with large cities is the traffic this part o the I 10 is
8 lanes each way.

This is the bottom of the junction.

This is what it looks like on the Tom Tom.

We stopped at Winnie just before the State Line.
This is an Independant Motel and it was exceptional.

You guessed it the bosses arty human interest!!!

Off to Port St Joe tomorrow and Louisiana.

Our route took us around Port St Joe and through a massive
area filled with different refineries.

Finally we made it.

Traveling the back roads of Louisiana.

This area of Louisiana is just inland and there's nothing but salt marshes
between us and the sea.

After traveling until early afternoon this is the first place we found for food.
The lady behind the cash register was over 80 and full of southern charm.
We were grateful for any food and had hot smoked sausage in a bun.

Long straight roads but not a lot of people in this area.

What is disturbing is the number of houses on stilts???

This is The Rockerfeller Wild Life Refuge it's over 86000 acres
There is no hunting or fishing allowed.
It is over 20 miles long.

We turned  the curve and came to a standstill it was a ferry.
The house above is located on the beach.

Bit of Human interest

The boss doing a subtle cash check of shirt pocket.

This was a free ferry which is unusual anywhere
and nice break before we head up to Lafayette.
