This store has a weird range from full size metal Giraffe to a small Dragon.
Oh and don't forget the wooden flowers. Well we are in the desert.

This is Bosque de la Apache, which means wood or forrest of the Apache.
This is a National Wildlife Refuge, south of Socorro.
It is over 57,000 acres of which 30,00 are designated wilderness.
There is a 12 mile loop road so access is really good.
These are Sandhill Cranes that winter here, there are approx 10,000.
This is a technical term for a fence with opening flaps!!!!1
We stayed to see the birds returning to roost at sunset.
Not the most elegant of landings.
These are the Snow Geese another winter visitor.
Looks as if they are getting their heads down.
Oh well thats our way back to the motel, time for food and liquid nourishment.
